Position: Accounting Analyst
Our Boston is looking for an Accounting Analyst for a growing international company
Job Description:
The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to learn the asset-based lending industry through hands on working experience. The Account Analyst (AA) will work with Account Executives (AE) and a Loan Portfolio Manager (LPM).
The AA program typically lasts up to 24 months and upon successful completion and existing business need, the candidate will be placed into the Field Audit Department. The successful candidate will develop a working understanding of secured lending, collateral handling and monitoring, analyzing financial statements and have direct involvement with customers through daily account management.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Review and complete the AA Training Program with oversight from the Training Specialist, LPM and Mentor AE. The LPM is ultimately responsible for the training related to this position.
- As it relates to the collateral reporting documents and underlying support items, review the adequacy of these reports and accuracy of the associated postings to the Stucky System. Understand ACL and CIS and contribute to accuracy of information in these systems.
-Prepare or review the calculation of non-primes and ensure this information is accurately posted. On a periodic basis, review various compliance and collateral tracking logs and inform relevant parties of any significant issues or delays.
-Participate in select meetings with company's customers.
-Assist / prepare credit modification requests and call reports.
-Update and maintain various reports, including trend cards, AR verifications, financial statement spreadsheets and financial covenant compliance worksheets.
-Participate in required departmental meetings and all in-house seminars. Attend approved time management, financial statement analysis and other related seminars as required. Complete any required outside coursework (cost and intermediate accounting required).
-Know and understand the responsibilities of a CO, and act as a back up to performing their duties and those of other AA's.
-Performs periodic special projects as well as other related duties and assignments.
-At the recommendation of the LPM and after satisfactory completion of the core AA Training Program, complete pre-audit training phase of the program to prepare for placement into the Field Audit Department (which requires ~75% annual overnight travel).
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in order of preference: Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics.
-Preference for individuals with prior job experience, especially those with 1-2 years of public accounting or related experience in the financial services sector.
-Candidate must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), understand Excel based programs; be goal/task completion oriented and have a strong desire to learn
