| Are you so obsessed with order and efficient function that it drives some folks nuts, and yet still somehow possess an undeniable charm and sense of fun? Are you super smart and love a challenge? Are you motivated, excited, and engaged? Then let us be your latest charity case! Fun, friendly, nonprofit 501(c)(3) affordable housing and service provider seeks a Administrative Intern. If you can help us to keep ourselves in better order, we can teach you all you need to know about the affordable housing world. The responsibilities of the job vary widely, but may involve the following: faxing, filing, and photocopying; fielding resident concerns and assisting applicants as they navigate the complicated world of subsidized housing; internet research; vendor research and selection by preparing requests for proposals (RFPs); preparing advertising and marketing materials; entering demographic data into our accounting system; sending tenants to collection; recertifying tenants; creating systems that can help us to organize ourselves more efficiently; and almost any other task you're interested in connected to social services, property management, finance, or non-profit administration. Please be able to interact in a respectful manner with folks who may be homeless, low-income, HIV+ or suffering from mental health issues. You should have the ability to initiate and direct your own projects, work independently, ask questions, and take on a wide variety of tasks! Being proficient with Microsoft office applications is a plus. We need weekday coverage, and are extremely flexible with scheduling. PLEASE NOTE: We had to choose a beginning and end date for this internship, but we can work with whatever time period you would like! We are very flexible! Ad provided by Idealist.org |
