| World Computer Exchange is seeking a volunteer Boston Marketing Coordinator to work with other volunteer members of a city chapter's team to create, plan and implement a fun and effective strategy to build public visibility that will increase computer donations, schools interested in assisting overseas schools, financial support for overseas schools, and volunteers. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience in marketing, social networking, and public relations while helping to bridge the digital divide for youth. World Computer Exchange www.worldcomputerexchange.org is a global education & environment nonprofit that helps connect youth in 65 developing countries to the skills, opportunities & understanding of the Internet while keeping working computers out of landfills. Our 700 volunteers help our 450 Partner organizations build capacity in project planning, partnership development, fund raising, tech support & teacher training. Our four Consortia of global allies guide and help our Initiatives in: tech visits, responsible e-waste disposal, digital libraries & capacity building in African Universities. Because of the work of our chapters, more than 2,500 schools, libraries, orphanages and youth centres report that the 26,800 reused computers they have received from WCE connect over a million youth per year to the Internet. Skills 1. Strong interpersonal skills, especially in verbal and written communications. 2. Motivated self-starter capable of working independently and with a team. 3. Good organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks. 4. Previous marketing and public relations experience is not required, however it would be a plus. 5. Reliability in keeping commitments. 6. Enthusiasm for technology and community service. 7. Interest in learning about developing areas of the world. 8.
