| Join WGBH's outstanding new docent program! Position Description: WGBH is seeking volunteer docents to provide tours in our new, all-digital studios in Boston's Brighton neighborhood. Our new home at One Guest Street welcomes the public we serve for screening, performances, and other events that amplify the impact of our programs. Docents provide one-of- a kind behind the scenes studio tours that include a visit to our TV and radio production studios, performance spaces, and more. Applicants should have a passion for public radio and television, an interest in public speaking, and a willingness to share this interest with adults and youth. Volunteers are needed for daytime, evening and weekend hours. Applicants MUST be available for summer docent training & be willing to provide tours to both adult and children's tours. Qualifications: • Must be available for June docent training. • Must be available to attend bi-monthly docent meetings. • Previous experience with public speaking required. • Previous experience with customer service preferred. • Must have ability to stand for periods of time. • Must possess enthusiasm for public radio and television. • Should have interest in presenting educational information to a wide audience (i.e. adults, children, donors, members, community members) • Must be at least 18 years of age; college experience preferred. • Minimum of one year volunteer commitment • Must commit to at least two tours per month About WGBH WGBH Boston is one of the nation's top public television and radio broadcasters.
